PB Receives BSFZ Seal for Innovative Scissor Lift

PB has been certified by the Bescheinigungsstelle Forschungszulage (BSFZ) – the Certification Office for Research Allowance – which is part of the Bundesministerium für Forschung, Technologie und Raumfahrt (Federal Ministry for Research, Technology, and Space) of Germany. PB is now officially recognized as a leader in innovation within research and development and proudly bears the FuE BSFZ seal (R&D BSFZ seal). This award confirms that we continuously invest in forward-looking research and development projects, thereby making a significant contribution to the technological advancement of our industry. Once again, this emphasizes PB’s role as one of the leading innovation drivers in height access technology.

Innovative Platform with Intelligent Sensors

The centerpiece of the award-winning research project is the development of a 32-meter large scissor lift featuring three major innovations:

• Intelligent sensor technology and automated hazard detection: Ultrasonic and wind sensors automatically prevent collisions with obstacles and detect potential hazards caused by gusts of wind.
• Flexible platform geometry: Unlike conventional models, this solution offers revolutionary mobility—the platform extends not only forward but, for the first time, also backward and can additionally move sideways. This expands the working area significantly without having to reposition the entire machine.
• User-oriented safety architecture: The manual emergency control can, for the first time, be operated directly from the platform by the operator—a meaningful safety enhancement for work at heights of up to 32 meters.

The lateral platform geometry, combined with intelligent sensor technology, required close integration between mechanical design and electrical control, resulting in innovative solutions. Through intensive development work and extensive testing, PB succeeded in realizing a functional and safe system.
